Core Medical Solutions were recently contacted by the celebratory executive of Barwon Health to notify us of the results from their recent Australian Council on Health Care Standards EQuIP (Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program) review: Colleagues, Every four years each Australian hospital is audited by the ACHS to ensure they are operating at an acceptable standard.

Last week was our turn and Barwon Health was visited by a large team of accreditors who spent the week interviewing staff and patients and also examining large folders full of evidence against a wide series of criteria. At the end of the week we were informed that we had passed accreditation with an extremely high result including three Outstanding Awards (only two had previously been awarded to one organization) and a large number of Excellent Awards.   I am absolutely thrilled as one of the OAs was for our information management, which is a first in Australia.

Leadership in a criterion does not necessarily mean that the organisation is the best in Australia. It may mean that the organisation can demonstrate that it is one of the best or is outstanding amongst its peers.
